Wool vessel workshop

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

I’m running a British wool pot workshop on Thursday 2nd March at Clifton Village Hall, Otley. We’ll make two small pots during the course of the day, one moulded around a bottle or jam jar and one moulded free form. We’ll be using the seamless resist method which is a standard method for most 3D work.

There’ll be a number of British wools to choose from including; Shetland, Blue Faced Leicester, Cheviot, Jacob, Manx Loaghtan, Whitefaced Woodland, Swaledale, Herdwick and Wensleydale. It’s an abosrbing and fun workshop, you’ll love it.

The cost is £50 per day, which runs from 10am – 4pm, and includes all fibres and equipment. All you’ll need to bring is an old towel and a packed lunch. Bookings can be made direct here or to pay by cheque please call me on 07745 160090

Doorstop Workshop

Wednesday, March 4th, 2015

I’ve only just realised that I never showed you the outcome of the sheep doorstop workshop. It was quite fun to do and I think you’ll agree that the results are very good.

This one dashed off early and so isn’t featured in the flock shot at the end – shame.

Handsome aren’t they?

Not the clearest shot of it’s face but still cute!

They were all still wet at this stage and they fluff up more once they dry.

All very cute and weighted down with beach stones supplied by Sue. Thanks Sue x

Table runner workshop

Friday, October 10th, 2014

To be held at Clifton Village Hall in Otley on Saturday 6th December. Table runners may not only be used on tables but can look magnificent suspended on the wall as art so you’ll be able to choose how you use your runner. Why not sometimes hang it on the wall and sometimes use it on the table?  Landscape?

These are all rectangular but there’s no reason why it can’t be round, oval or square. I have a great idea for a new one so I’m off to start work on it now 🙂  More details and booking for the table runners on my workshop page.

Friday, September 12th, 2014

You may have noticed I’ve been quiet of late, Mum died quite recently and there’s been a lot to do. However, I’m getting back into the swing and thought I’d start with a quick photo of what you might expect on the pleated bags workshop.

Initially we’ll make prefelt (part made felt) then insert pleats and then move on to finishing our designs. There’ll be more samples and ideas to inspire you as you work through this method to create your unique bag.  I’m trying a couple of new venues over the next few months and this workshop will be held at Gisburn Festival Hall, Bentlea Rd, Gisburn,BB7 4LL on Sunday 9th November. It’s a lovely hall, nice and light with plenty of space. I hope you can come along.

A Christmas Present

Monday, January 16th, 2012

Lucky me, my husband bought me a day at a craft workshop for my Christmas present. A stained glass workshop, a whole day just to play with no phones (switched it off hee hee), no washing or other chores to be done and quiet time to be creative, Well, it wasn’t all that quiet when we began scoring glass and tapping it to break. The worst part of course was having to choose which colours to work with and which order to put them in.

I really liked the glass with texture and those with colour striations. I’ve used red, orange blue and turquoise, it’s not a great work of art but okay for a first piece and it is my own design. The good news as far as my husband is concerned is that I won’t be taking this up as a hobby, really great to have a go at it but somehow it’s just not for me. What’s next??
