'Blue Hydrangea'

The shapes on this scarf wrap were inspired by hydrangea petals. Black silk chiffon is the base, onto which I put lace flowers and then lightly covered it all with carded blue and green merino wool fibres. I've trapped the lace in the middle but allowed it to break through in places creating extra interest and texture.

I've then overstitched flowing lines of turquoise blue and white thread incorporating the shape of an hydrangea petal. The first picture shows it with the wool side out and the third picture shows it with the black silk chiffon side out.

It's very light, strong and utterly beautiful.
