If you’re a regular visitor to my blog you’ll know that I’m involved in crocheting granny squares to be made into blankets for the troubled people of Japan. They’ve asked for baby blankets first and as my last offerings were quite colourful I thought I’d go for pastels this time.
But that’s it I’ve done with pastels and back onto colour for the next one. If you haven’t heard of this endeavour before and you can crochet or knit please check out http://kyoyukyoyu.blogspot.com/. You don’t have to make a whole blanket, you can do one square or a 100 squares. Here’s the total for what’s been achieved to date.
Running Totals
312…………… squares received to date
19 ……………..blankets ALREADY posted
2………………..blankets being stitched
2………………..waiting to be posted
Fantastic isn’t it? I crocheted the squares together using the instruction from attic 24. My 13 year old daughter has now started a blanket too but it will be stripes as she hasn’t mastered the granny squares yet. I’m sure the babies won’t mind.
Morning Angela!
I’ve been enjoying an almost impromptu camping trip and am just checking blogs and things and see you have made a most beautiful blankie – so so pretty! I’ve not posted yet, but the first of the blankets have arrived in Japan and are already in use!
thank you so so much for getting involved xx
Wow, I’ll go check your blog now. It’s great to think some are now in use.
