Whitby

It’s months since we last visited the coast and now that our Daughter is off cructhes we managed a day out to Whitby yesterday. Although very cold it was a  beautiful clear sunny day and we always enjoy exploring the town.

We did see the houses which have been affected by the landslip and could see that there were workmen busy at the properties, how heartbreaking it must be for the owners.

Of course we had to indulge in a little beach combing whilst there. I have great hopes of turning the boot full above into something attactive. We have an arched mirror in the bathroom which I’d like to square off and thought perhaps I could do it with driftwood. Wish me luck as I’ve no idea exactly how that’s going to work.

One of the local inhabitants out for s troll. The nearest gardens were two streets away, not that the chicken had any intention of being returned home.  It persistently evaded capture by darting under cars which gave me the ditimct feeling it had done this before.

  1. I went to Whitby for the first time this year and fell in love with its quirky random street charm, the hidden houses and the jumbled up lanes – definitely want to visit again x
