I know I’ve been promising these for a while but I have, at last, listed my new workshops from September. There’s only a couple of Saturday workshops as due to my commitments at Adelaide Walker I’m working more shows in the Autumn. If the situation changes you can be sure I’ll add more dates but for now, here they are:
Thursday 19th September – Poppy flower bag – Be inspired by one of our nation’s most identifiable flowers – a poppy. Keeping the bag a simple shape we’ll be working on the colours and textures of a poppy creating 3D petals and a fabulous bag that’ll see you through from Autumn into Winter (Ilkley venue)
Wednesday 9th October – Patchwork and applique felt cushion – Taking inspiration from the Victorian fad for crazy patchwork you’ll be making a cushion cover from pre-felts lace, applique and stitch to create your own glorious version. If you like beading and stitching you’ll be able to continue at home, the more you add, the more fab it becomes (Ilkley venue)
Saturday 2nd November – Wooly wrist warmers – Using bits of lace, fabric and sparkly threads we’ll make glamorous and unique wrist warmers / fingerless mittens for the cold season. Perfect for your own use, they make great gifts and we should have time to make two pairs. (Bradley venue)
Friday 8th November – Textured felt pictures – We’ll be using fabric, threads and stitch to bring pictures alive and add an extra dimesion to our work. Bring along a photo, holiday snap perhaps for inspiration or choose from my image stash. (Ilkley venue)
Wednesday 4th December – Christmas wreath – Festive fun creating a felt wreath you’ll be able to use year after year. Choosing from traditional, funky or contemporay, using balls, flowers or leaves we’ll create unique takes on the Christmas wreath. (Ilkley venue)
Saturday 7th December – Glamorous nuno scarves – Soft and floaty, nuno scarves have the power to make you feel glamorous any day of the week. We’ll be taking them up a notch with added silks, shimmers and sparkles to brighten even the darkest winter days and nights. Bradley venue)
Shows – It’s Fibre East in Bedfordshire on 27/8 July. A new show for this year is Yarndale in Skipton on 28/29 September which is the same date as the fabulous Masham Sheep Fair. Another new wool show is Bakwell Wool Gathering in Derbyshire on 19/20 October so we’re spoilt for choice. I’ll be at all except Masham (still can’t clone myself) with my Adelaide Walker hat on and hope to see some of you.
