I’ve really enjoyed playing with poppies over the last few months and so I thought I’d show you my latest offering.

The background is a small square of Swaledale fibres which I’ve hand dyed and felted. The poppies were needle felted on top.

I’ve added a few extra colours to the background at the bottom. Very pleased with this small picture.

  1. Dear Angela,
This work with poppies is lovely. The colour of the wool just makes the poppies ”zing” Beautifully talented work!
This gave me an idea….the small local craft group that I belong to has been asked me to make an item to go onto a display board to commemorate 100yrs since 1st world war. Would you mind if I used your idea as it seems perfectly to reflect the theme?
If you do not mind, would you be so kind as to share with me the technique used.

    Very best wishes from Pam

  2. Thank you Pam. Please do pinch the idea for your craft item. The background was wet felted and when dry I then needlefelted the poppies onto the top. I’d love to see how yours turns out.
