An introduction to spinning your own yarn for beginners. Learn to spin on an Ashford spinning wheel or bring your own wheel along if you prefer. If you would like to use your own wheel please make sure I’m aware of this and let me know the type of wheel you have.
I will take you through the basics of spinning, from choosing your wool, how to start your spinning, drafting your wool and turning it into a plied yarn.
Loan of a wheel and fibres are included. Places are limited to three to ensure I can give sufficient attention to everyone.
Addingham has a number of pubs offering food and a cafe and I can highly recomment the food at The Swan if you need somewhere for lunch before the workshop.
I’ll provide the tea and coffee to keep us going and of course you can have a look around the shop afterwards if you would like.
Initially a feltmaker, I’ve been a partner in Adelaide Walker for eleven years and am now a committed spinner and weaver. I love working with British wool and sharing my enthusiasm for fibre crafts.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts after which time a refund will only be given if I can re-sell the place.
